  • Everything Changes--Kathy Troccoli
    Well you came in my life like a ray of light
    Shining through the clouds in my heart
    I just looked at you and the world was new
    It was right, right from the start
    [Bridge:]
    Whoah oh oh oh you came to me
    Whoah oh oh oh with a love so sweet
    And I'll never never never
    Be the same
    [Chorus:]
    Everything changes
    Nothing looks the same through the eyes of love
    Everything changes (everything changes)
    When you love some, love some, love someone
    Everything changes
    Standing in the light of a bright new sun
    Everything changes (everything changes)
    When you love some, love some, love someone
    Everything changes
    I'm lookin' around me
    And I'm lovin' what I see
    'cause I found somebody, somebody who loves me
    (repeat bridge & chorus

Lesson from life:  everything changes.

Even if you have an existing Will, there are many events that occur which may necessitate changes in your Will.  Some of these are:
  1. Marriage, death, birth, divorce or separation affecting either you or anyone named in your Will;
  2. Significant changes in the value of your total assets, or in any particular assets which you own;
  3. A change in your domicile;
  4. Death or incapacity of a beneficiary;
  5. Death, incapacity or change in residence of a named executor, trustee or guardian of infants, or of one of the witnesses to the execution of the Will;
  6. Annual changes in tax law;
  7. Changes in who you like and who cares about/for you

A Will may be modified, added to, or entirely changed at any time before your death provided you are mentally and physically competent and desire to change your Will.  You should consider revising your Will whenever there are changes in the size of your estate. For example, when your children are young, you may think it best to have a trust for them so they do not come into absolute ownership of property until they are mature.  Note that if you draw lines through items, erase or write over, or add notations to the original Will, it can be destroyed as a legal document.  Either a new Will should be legally prepared or a codicil signed to legally change portions of the Will.   Contact our firm today!

    Blog!

    Hello, there!  Welcome to my blog.  I will use this blog as a platform for my writing.  I will write about topics in the legal world, certainly, as well as everything else under the sun, because I have many interests (and viewpoints).  All views expressed in this blog, unless otherwise noted, are mine alone.  One of my interests is music--my wife believes that I should go on "Beat Shazam" because I know so many songs--and I will be, from time to time, analyzing song lyrics and how they relate to the legal world.
